The Remnant Prayer Battles

The Remnant Prayer BattlesThe Remnant are not like everybody else. That’s because you are a remnant believer. Remnant believers are like David’s mighty men. They were known as “helpers of the war” having three unique remnant qualities. 1. They were frustrated 2. They knew things could be better 3. They put action with their faith. It takes all three of these qualities before anyone will change their lifestyle. If one is missing change will not occur.

David’s mighty warriors were just like you. “And everyone that was in distress, and everyone that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him, and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men” (1 Samuel 22:2). You can see these men had all three remnant traits. David received them, trained them, and gave them assignments. I believe that the anointing on his life came on theirs. In the end, they became the army of the Lord with a heart to turn the kingdom of God from Saul, who had a religious spirit, over to David, a man after God’s own heart.

As you know the Old Testament in many examples is a type and shadow of the New Testament. For example, the natural battles they faced are similar to the spiritual warfare battles we face. Some of our spiritual enemies are well known such as the Jezebel spirits, religious spirits, and witchcraft spirits. Others are not so well known, but the Old Testament gives us a clue. In the Promised Land, there were inhabitants that needed to be dispossessed. There were Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. These are a type of demonic groups. Some control the marketplace, release word curses, remind you of past failures, dismantle what God has built, attack your grip, defile sons and daughters, infiltrate the church, or make you want to give up and quit. You can listen to me teach about this on the Champion Insider’s site under “Understanding Spiritual Battles.”

The Apostle Paul taught us about “spiritual warfare”. Spiritual warfare prayer is a battle in the spirit. That’s why it’s called spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12). As intercessors, prayer warriors, and remnant believers, we encounter a lot of demonic resistances. Most of our resistance is during spiritual warfare, seasons of change, or after receiving an assignment from the Holy Ghost. Sometimes our encounters are after we obey God and get what I call “spiritual retaliation”. Regardless of the type of spiritual warfare, our solution is always the same, praying always in the Spirit (tongues), obeying the Holy Spirit, putting on the whole armor of God, using especially the Word of God (our sword of the Spirit), and exercising our delegated spiritual authority to bind and loose. There are other things, but this covers the basics.
