Work, Meaning, And The Christian Man

Work, Meaning, And The Christian Man

Discover how work, meaning, and spiritual authority are all part of the Christian man's spiritual matrixAuthority for the man oftentimes can be seen in his work. Some think that work is a curse. It’s not. God gave work to Adam before the curse. Work is part of a man’s spiritual matrix which includes such things as position and meaning.

Scripture confirms your position. “And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6). Start seeing yourself as a king with delegated spiritual authority that is authorized to manifest the kingdom of God.

Let’s review work, meaning, and the Christian man. As already said, authority for the man oftentimes can be seen in his work. Some think that work is a curse. It’s not. God gave work to Adam before the curse. Work is part of a man’s spiritual matrix. Work offers many things including meaning.

Work gives meaning to men’s lives.

Work is in the plan of God for you, it’s not punishment for sin. Men that love their work are happy and content with their lives because it’s in their spiritual nature to produce, achieve, and succeed. This is part of the design of the male. All these traits are found in the journey of a worthwhile pursuit for the Christian disciple.

*Christian men should set themselves to produce things of value with their gifts, talents, and experiences by focusing helping others.

Jesus said, “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant” (Matthew 23:11). Christ made it clear, the greatest sense of achievement for a man is found through serving. Serving is using your skills, talents, and gifts to advance a Holy Spirit led cause.

Scripture guides you directly regarding purpose declaring, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’S purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21). This means you must make God’s plans your plans. If not, you will never find that sense of purpose and fulfillment. That’s what Jesus did. He said, “My Father worketh even until now and I work” (John 5:17).

Men were created by God to work.

No one respects a man that doesn’t work. Apostle Paul said plainly, “If any would not work, neither should he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Yes, work can be hard and unfulfilling at times. Nevertheless, when a man discovers his gifting and finds that place of purpose, his outlook on life changes dramatically. This is because work itself is supposed to be meaningful and satisfying.

There are probably times in your life when you can remember that feeling of a job well done. Those times were when the completion of a project brought you great joy. That’s because you tapped into the spirit of purpose that God put in you.

 Work is not a curse.

Work is part of your design. Work is good for your health and wellbeing. It contributes to happiness, helps build confidence, self-esteem, and financial reward. Work also points you toward financial blessing. God says, “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Proverbs 10:4).

 Work gives the man money.

Not only does work provide financial resources for the man, finances attract women. Let’s face it, women are looking for providers, or those that have a passionate vision for the future. It doesn’t matter where you are working right now. You could be flipping burgers, but if the woman sees you working hard and having a passion for a prosperous future you will draw her attention.

The working man understands that kingship is an important subject matter. Understanding the kingship of the believer affects how you see yourself, determines your approach to life, ministry, and God himself. You only have one life to live. Make it count. As already said, the place for discovery of purpose is found in the Holy Spirit’s presence. Learn to start your day off in the secret place. In the secret place of your prayer life, the Holy Spirit will give you wisdom, spiritual strength, and direction.

You were created to work, manage, and administrate.
