Divine appointments belong to you. Disciples of Christ are one conversation away from a breakthrough. Let's look at the life of Joseph.
Joseph’s life was not going well. He was the youngest of the family, loved and doted on by his father. His brothers were jealous and sold him into slavery. From a pit, he was delivered into slavery and found himself falsely accused of sexual misconduct in Potiphar’s house by a woman with a Jezebel spirit. From there he was thrown into prison. This is where the testimony gets interesting. While in prison Joseph meets two men. One of them is like everyone else he has ever met in his life, but the other is a divine appointment.
Divine appointments are meetings arranged in advance by the Holy Spirit with someone you need to meet. In prison, Joseph meets Pharaoh’s chief butler and interprets his dream. You know the story: Pharaoh also has a dream that no one could interpret. Pharaoh was furious with his mystics. In the midst of the conflict, the Chief Butler remembers a man he met while in prison that could interpret dreams. Joseph.
Scripture says, “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that you can understand a dream to interpret it” (Genesis 41:14-15).
Whenever God wants to bless you, he will bring someone into your life. Joseph had a divine appointment in prison. His divine appointment made way for an audience with Pharaoh. The result reads,
“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:38-43).
This is a story about divine appointments that leads you toward the plan of God. Think of it, favor from one person is all you need to experience something different in your life. One conversation, a divine appointment, can change your life forever.
