Have you considered your childhood first voices? Apostle Paul wrote about many voices. He penned, "There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification” (1 Corinthians 14:10).
Let’s take a minute and speak about first voices. First voices are those thoughts, impulses, and desires that seem to be innate within us. Take children, for example. Children know what they like and dislike. They have inclinations that are uniquely theirs. Parents learn quickly that every child is different. Some are drawn to art and others to mechanics. Why? Because God is the master designer. He has made everyone unique. Different. One of a kind. This includes you. There is no one like you in the entire universe. Amazing!
First voices are often overlooked as we grow older. This is because of the many distractions that pull us here, there, and everywhere.
Take time today and think about what you love. Remember those childhood voices and inclinations. Take a minute and remember the first voice of passion, that first voice that gave you that simple inner smile and sense of purpose and delight.
It’s those first voices that can get buried by the label’s others want to put on you. Remember, your identity comes from God. He’s your creator, designer, and great architect of life. Go back to the beginning and listen to what He had to say when you were a child. Find that first voice.
