Binding and Loosing: Standing Against Opposing Voices in a Corrupted World

These Voices Will Mess You Up 1The world is filled with opposing voices against faith in God, Kingdom culture, and God given rights. Some voices come against freedom of movement, the right to work, the right to healthcare, the right to ban medical experiments, and censorship of free speech. Other voices say men are obsolete, there are multiple genders, and equality through socialism. Voices of compromise, voices of apathy, and voices of moral weakness are all around you.

Consider your current condition. What are you listening to? What messages are framing your world view? It’s interesting that main street media pundits spread various narratives. A narrative tells a story. It has a voice, paints a picture, and leads toward a particular way of seeing and thinking. For the disciple of Christ, all narratives need to be filtered with the word of God for truth. It’s important to filter the various media voices and be aware of demonic corruption and false motives.

Jesus spoke to his disciples about authority, work, and watching. He said, “For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch” (Mark 13:34). This helps you understand assignment and focus. First, you have delegated spiritual authority to bind and loose, agree or not. Scripture declares, “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). This verse speaks of both natural authority and spiritual authority. Natural authority speaks of what you agree or disagree with, especially when hearing the many voices that surround you each day. Spiritual authority speaks of power over serpents, scorpions and every demonic propaganda that would try to corrupt you (Luke 10:19). As disciples of Christ each has a general and a particular assignment. Christ called it work. Your general assignment is the advancement of the Cross and the Kingdom. Do you remember when Jesus said, “Occupy till I come” (Luke 19:13)?

Christ instructed the porters to watch. There is much corruption and demonic activity to see. As a porter, your responsibility is to guard against those opposing voices of compromise with the reprobate forces of evil. Get up in the prayer tower, contend for the faith, and act as a good solider. Don’t let anti-Christ forces mess you up.
