What is the Fruit of the Spirit?

The "fruit of the Spirit" is a term that is commonly used to refer to the nine attributes that are produced in a believers life when the Holy Spirit is allowed to control them. These nine attributes are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The fruit of the Spirit is a vital part of the Christian life and is evidence of a persons relationship with God. The Bible speaks of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22–23, saying, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to control our lives. The fruit of the Spirit is a result of the Holy Spirits presence in our lives. As believers, we are instructed to "walk in the Spirit," which means that we should be led by the Spirit and not by our own desires.

The Bible says in Romans 8:14, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." As we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, we will naturally begin to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is a direct result of Gods love for us and His work in our lives.

In 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, the Bible says, "Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, and it is not proud. It does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres."

This passage perfectly describes the character of God and the attributes of the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of Gods work in our lives. When we allow God to be in control of our lives, we will naturally begin to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is not something that we can produce through our own efforts. It is a result of the Holy Spirits presence in our lives. As believers, we should strive to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us in the ways of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is a vital part of the Christian life and is evidence of a persons relationship with God. As believers, we should strive to allow the Holy Spirit to control our lives so that we may produce the fruit of the Spirit. By allowing the Holy Spirit to control our lives, we will naturally begin to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit, which is evidence of Gods work in our lives and His love for us.
