Uncovering Your God-Given Assignment: Exploring Your Core Values

When Things Trouble You And Not Others 1Discover how your core values reveal your God-given assignment. Sometimes what bugs you has to do with your God-given assignment. Have you ever noticed that certain things disturb you but doesn’t disturb others? Someone says are does something that stirs your spirit but doesn’t faze others. This could have much to do with your God-given assignment.

What bugs you oftentimes has to do with a core value. A core value is part of what makes you different.  Core values come from God. They are part of your spiritual DNA.

Core values can be different from person to person. Some place a high value on truth for example. Other’s place a high value on justice. Still others courage. The point is that core values structure your identity.

It's obvious that core values attract core values. In other words, those that love art gather with others that love art. Those that love fishing gather with others that love fishing.

Core values are like a compass that guide you into purpose and assignment. As already said, what bothers you will reveal part of your calling. Perhaps you get much joy helping minister to the poor. Maybe you love supporting missions. Or you get much joy serving in your local church. The point is, core values help steer your life.

Where do these core values come from? The answer is this. Those core values come from your Designer. His name is Christ. He is the author and the finisher of your faith. Scripture declares, “In Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
