The Power of Faith-Filled Words

Power of Decisions, Choices, and DestinyYour world changes when you decide to change Understand this, right choices are important. Now, if you dont like your life, you can change it.How, you ask? By making a decision to change. Everything starts with a decision. Your history is connected to decisions and your future is connected to decisions.

Decisions determine the quality of your life. Whatever is happening in your life right now has something to do with your past decisions. If you made good decisions, then you are reaping good things. But if you made bad decisions, you are suffering. Understand this, right choices are important. Now, if you don’t like your life, you can change it. “How,” you ask? By making a decision to change. Everything starts with a decision. Your history is connected to decisions and your future is connected to decisions.

Thoughts are the byproduct of how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. One of your biggest challenges is getting your thoughts in order. When you get your thoughts in order, you will get your words in order. These two things will start to change your world.

There was a man in our church. He was a good person with a big problem. He couldn’t keep a job, and his family was suffering. One of his problems was his presentation. He had a ponytail, wore rose colored glasses, and tattered pants. He dressed like he was straight out of the old hippy movement of the late 1960s. He dressed like that because, somehow, his emotional maturity stopped during that phase of American’s rebellion against the establishment.

I have seen this before, wherever people get hurt or rejected for some reason, sometimes their emotional maturity ends there. That’s why it’s possible to be forty years old and have the emotional maturity of a teenager. Anyway, his outer image of himself matched his inner image of himself. He needed to change. He needed to enter a new season.

After several counseling sessions and much prayer, he began to renew his mind by the word of God. This process started to give him a different view of himself. He cut his hair and traded his glasses for contacts. In three days he got a great job. His wife was elated. Today you wouldn’t recognize him. He even has his own business. He is not the person he once was. The word of God changed his thinking. Change your thoughts, change your life.

GOD’S FAITH LANGUAGE

God has a faith language. He taught Abram to see and decree. Abram was battling discouragement and fear. The Lord reminded him that He was Abram’s shield and exceedingly great reward. Abram was concerned about the lack of an heir. In the lesson, God brought Abram outside and instructed him to look toward heaven and talk to the stars. Notice the language of faith-filled words involved in the lifestyle of the believer.

“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir, but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD, and he counted it to him for righteousness.” (Genesis 15:1-6)

Continuing the lesson of faith-filled words, the Lord taught Abram to call those things that are not as though they are. In other words, command what you need to appear. Scripture says, “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). The takeaway is, you can act like your heavenly Father. You can use the power of faith-filled words. Start changing your life by changing your language.

FAITH SPEAKS

Some have focused on developing faith in the word of God and little effort in speaking the word of God. Faith is good, but faith doesn’t work without an accompanying action. James instructed, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20).

Jesus taught his Disciples the power of speaking in faith. He said it didn’t take much faith to move a mountain, but it did require the use of words. “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20).

The combination of faith and speaking makes all things possible. Some are waiting for God to move their mountains of trouble out of the way, but that’s not how they move. The Kingdom way to move mountains out of your life is by commanding them to move in faith. Never spend time building faith without spending time speaking in faith.
