Unlock the Value of God's Wisdom for Wealth, Health and Happiness

Spiritual Wisdom, Silver,And GoldGod's wisdom is more valuable than silver and gold; learn how to gain access to it for lasting benefit. Developing spiritual wisdom is essential for unlocking wealth, health, and happiness. Proverbs 3:13-18 teaches that God's wisdom is of great worth because it brings long life, riches, peace, honor, and joy. The world is full of corruption, such as countries that debase their currencies in order to increase the cost of goods and services. But God's wisdom never loses its value and leads to the creation of value. The world's system robs people of wealth through inflation, but God's system can transfer wealth from the wicked to the righteous.

Spiritual wisdom is the Biblical connection between wealth, health, and happiness.

“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.” (Proverbs 3:13-18)

Solomon teaches that God’s wisdom has great value because it offers long life, riches, peace, honor, and happiness. He declares that “the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies.” The merchandise of wisdom, meaning, that God’s wisdom is like a highly valued form of currency that can be used to buy anything you need in the marketplace. Unlike paper money, God’s wisdom never loses its value. If fact, His wisdom leads to the production of value.

Have you noticed the price of everything getting higher and higher? That’s because countries are debasing their currencies. Countries debase their currencies on purpose. This debasement causes the price of goods and services to go up. Currency debasement means that the cost of goods like food, rent, and gas are not really going up in price, it means the purchasing power (value) of the currency is going down. This is important to realize next time you go grocery shopping because our natural tendency is to pick up an item in the grocery store and think the price of that item has really increased, but the truth is the value of the currency has gone down. Because of this currency debasement you have to work more hours this year to buy the same products you bought last year.

When I was in Nicaragua, it was interesting that the price of mangos was increasing. I was surprised because I have several mango trees in my yard. Those fruit trees produced about the same amount of mangos this year as they did last year. In other words, mango production was the same, but the currency to buy them in the marketplace went down in value. The point I am making is God’s wisdom is way more valuable that man’s paper currency.

Maybe you have never considered this, but the world attacks wealth creation through the debasement of currency, but God’s wisdom transfers wealth from the wicked to the righteous. This means the system is rigged. The world’s system steals wealth from you through inflation, but God’s system adds wealth to you through covenant blessings.

Wikipedia explains currency debasement.

“Countries compete against each other to achieve a relatively low exchange rate for their own currency. As the price to buy a country's currency falls so too does the price of exports. Imports to the country become more expensive. So domestic industry, and thus employment, receives a boost in demand from both domestic and foreign markets. However, the price increase for imports can harm citizens' purchasing power. The policy can also trigger retaliatory action by other countries which in turn can lead to a general decline in international trade, harming all countries.”

Understanding the race of countries to debase the value of their paper currencies highlights the ever-increasing value of God’s wisdom because God’s wisdom never loses its value.

“So what is wisdom,” you ask?

Wisdom is the ability to make sound decisions. Decisions have consequences. You are living in the fruit of yesterday’s decisions. Some of those decisions were good, and some of those decisions were not. Many would like to go back in time and change some of those bad decisions because they produced the wrong results. It’s obvious we can’t go back in time, but we can make a decision right now to start applying God’s law to our decision-making process.

Make a decision to start the process today. Take God at his Word. He said that his wisdom is more valuable than silver and gold. So begin with a concentrated effort to renew your mind with the Word of God. Scripture says, “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).

Start changing the way you think and start applying God’s law to specific situations. Ask yourself, “What Bible scripture can I apply to this situation?” When you apply the Word of God, then you can expect life, prosperity, and happiness to increase.  Solomon wrote, “For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it” (Proverbs 8:11).

The pursuit of God’s wisdom is better than the pursuit of wealth. Scripture says, “Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches, and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures” (Proverbs 8:18-21).
