Divine Appointments: Arranged by the Holy Spirit

Divine Appointments Holy Spirit Arranged Meetings Divine appointments are meetings arranged by the Holy Spirit with people that have something in them that you need in you. You are only one conversation away from a new season of favor. The Holy Spirit arranges meetings with people you need to meet.

Jesus taught his Disciples to pray God’s will be done. Often His will requires a special meeting with someone you have never met. Notice the words in this prayer, “and lead us.”

“After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13)

Praying God’s kingdom come opens divine appointments, conversations, and favor in your life. A divine appointment is a meeting ordained by the Holy Spirit that will change the course of your life. These types of meetings are filled with favor. Favor from one person can change your life overnight.

One day a Samarian woman met Jesus at the village well. This was a divine appointment that changed her life.

“Jesus said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13-14).

The woman at Zarephath had a divine appointment with the prophet Elijah and received a financial blessing. Some say it amounted to a year’s income.

“For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house did eat many days” (1 Kings 17:14-15).

The lame beggar at the Gate Beautiful encountered Peter and John and received a miracle healing.

Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).

All these meetings were orchestrated by the Holy Spirit having a profound effect on their lives. You may feel really frustrated right now because you know the gift of God in you should be producing more than you see right now. If’s that’s so start praying His kingdom come and His will be done in your life. Prayers are words. Words make a difference. Speak them and stand ready to receive a divine appointment.

DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES

I received a vision about a country one time. In the vision, the Lord showed me that a great door had been opened for the advancement of the Gospel. I didn’t know anything about the country and didn’t dwell on the vision that much. When you don’t know what the Spirit of God is saying just be patient.

A couple months later we attended a ministers conference in Florida. During the lunch break, we were seated at a table with a group of strangers. Somehow during conversation I spoke about the vision the Holy Spirit gave me. To my amazement, those having lunch with us were from that very nation. They were really touched.

A few days later I received a call from one of the leaders inviting me to preach at their annual conference. At the time he called traveling would have been a financial burden. I told the man I would pray about it. After hanging up, the Holy Spirit spoke saying, “Don’t let go of your divine appointments. Hold fast to them.” When God wants to bless you, he brings somebody into your life. That divine appointment opened a door for me to minister in that country for ten years.

WHEN SEASONS CHANGE

All new seasons in your life start with words. Words are involved with all new beginnings. This means all outsets will include words. We could call these words prophetic announcements. Scripture says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:1-3). It’s amazing how many new seasons and new opportunities begin after you hear from the Holy Spirit. God says,

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

God will speak to you in several different ways. The most common is the written word of God, the Bible. He may also speak to you through a prophet, the spirit of prophecy, dreams, visions, a still small voice, or an inner witness. The point is, one word from the Holy Spirit can launch you into the next season in your life.

New seasons are opened in the atmosphere of faith. Faith is expectation. Where you find faith, you find expectation. If there is no expectation, then you have not entered the realm of faith. The Holy Spirit responds to your expectation. He watches your reaction to his presence. He watches the hunger for his instruction. Scripture says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Not everyone that knows God seeks him. This is unfortunate. It’s not enough just to know him, one must love him enough to diligently seek him. Diligence is another word for pursuit. The Holy Spirit loves it when you pursue him. The person that will not pursue the things of God has no right to receive anything from the Lord. This is what makes you different from others.
