Cultural War: Avoid Deception and Delusion

As Christians we are in a cultural war, a showdown, kingdom against kingdom. Christ made it plain when asked what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world? (Matthew 24:3).  He prefaced his answer with instruction to avoid deception. Deception is the deliberate act of leading someone away from truth into falsehood. Deception leads to delusion.

Deception is becoming rampant in our society as Western culture and values of Christianity are under attack. Today, we have men wanting to be women and women wanting to be men. We have politicians trying to eliminate gender identifying words such as father. Some have even went so far as saying that men are obsolete have an abusive nature built into their DNA.

Apostle Paul wrote of occult opposition from those in the courts of government like Jannes and Jabres that withstood Moses. He said they resist the truth, have corrupt minds and are reprobate concerning the faith" (2 Timothy 3:8). Notice their pattern:

Oppose God's representatives

Resist God's truth

Corrupt minds

Reprobate (corrupted morality).

As already said, Christ made it clear the necessity to avoid deception. Deception is an action meant to "cause someone to believe an untruth." Again, deception leads to delusion. Delusion is an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary.

Delusion is increasing because some "refuse to put God in their knowledge." This act of rejection opens them up to delusion, deception, and degeneration. Paul wrote, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient" (Romans 1:28).

There is some good news. The good news is you are not part of their darkness. You are hungry for more of God and His truth. You are building your house on the rock. You are a disciple of Christ and a citizen of Zion. Your identity doesn't come from a carnal world of darkness but from God who created you in his image with a mandate to advance the kingdom of God.

Fix your eyes on Christ. Put the kingdom of God first and his righteousness (justice) and all your desires will be added to your life. Scripture has a great promise you can learn from. "As long as Uzziah sought the LORD God made him to prosper" (2 Chronicles 26:5).
