Understanding Spiritual Discernment and Prophetic Ministry

Unlock the power of spiritual discernment and prophetic ministry to help you recognize truths, false teachings, and demonic assignments. Discover the spiritual sensitivity of prophets and how they help to keep spiritual order, patterns, and structure. Learn how to use spiritual discernment in your everyday life and how to activate it to receive guidance from the Holy Spirit. Spiritual discernment goes hand in hand with prophetic ministry. Prophets, similar to apostles, deal with spiritual order, patterns, and structure. They are foundational and minister into belief systems (Ephesians 2:20).

BELIEF SYSTEMS

A belief system is why a person believes what they believe. When a prophet (when walking in their prophetic gifting) enters a room or when someone stands in front them, for example, their spiritual discernment may activate and will discern if anything is out of order, needs correction, encouragement, or something else the Holy Spirit may reveal. That is the prophet’s revelation gifting manifesting within them.

SPIRITUALLY SENSITIVE

Prophets are the most spiritually sensitive of all the five-fold apostolic ministry ascension gifts. So if there is anything out of order in the church or out of order in your life, they may pick it up in their spirit. (They may also discern demonic assignments, false teaching, truth or error.)

It’s not suspicion or intuition they are discerning. Don’t get confused because suspicion and intuition come out of the soul through reasoning. Remember, you are a spirit, have a soul, and live in a body. Your spirit is the real you, it’s the part of you that was once dead in trespasses and sin, but now, because of the saving grace and the blood of Christ, you are a new creature old things passed away, behold all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

PROPHETIC GIFTING

Your soul is your mind, imagination, and emotions. Spiritual discernment is received into your spirit from the Holy Spirit. Suspicion is suspecting guilt, wrongs, or harms with little or no supporting evidence.

The prophetic gifting has nothing to do with suspicion, intuition, or carnal imaginations but manifest out of one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit such as a word of wisdom, word of knowledge, or the discerning of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). That’s all for now.
