The Danger Of False Paths

The Danger Of False Paths

Every disciple of Christ should be aware of unsafe paths. There are many paths along your journey in this life. All of them have consequences. Some outcomes are more noticeable than others. Some more dangerous than others. And some more healthy than others. All can offer different detours and destinations.

Some of these false paths have a seductive lure and pull on your old carnal nature. That’s what the Bible calls your flesh. These flesh paths have harmful destinations, are filled with explosive potholes brought on by greed, fame, and seductions of every kind.

The Christian has a great advantage over the Reprobates because Christ gave instruction when enticed by false paths. He said, “Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby” (Matthew 7:13). This is why it’s necessary to build your house on the word of God.

False paths entice because they are filled with wrong motives. They are paths of darkness. Your instruction is to walk in the light. “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his works should be reproved. But he that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God” (John 3:20-21).

Compromise, lack of faith, apathy, amoral attractions, and wrong associations should be avoided with great diligence. Stay away from the blind that have tried to get you off course. Those who are dead in trespasses and sin are nothing but blind leaders. When the blind lead the blind they both fall into a ditch. Guard your heart and avoid false paths.

If you are on a false path, take the next exit.
