God descended to rescue his people after hearing their cries in response to the brutality of the Egyptian pharaoh. He gave them some excellent news.
The promise of a land brimming with milk and honey. Alternatively, a place free of poverty and oppression Can you picture the thrill of hearing this?
That wonderful promise also included some guidance. It was a directive to take possession of the land. The word possess requires a strong, distraction-free focus. It also needs a distinct mentality and faith in Jehovah. a disposition for fighting the enemy, and having faith in God.
You are aware that it looks as though every promise from God faces spiritual opposition. Satan doesn't want you walking inn the promises of God.
The great cause of displaying the glory of Jehovah, who leads and guides his people, is not without opposition. He also has a great name as the Most High God, Protector, Provider, and Healer.
Along the journey, the kingdom's children faced numerous obstacles and challenges. However, God continued to encourage them, even releasing the hornet against their enemies.
The hornet's unleashing was a warning to anyone who would question God's purpose and design. Let's look at it.
"Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. Thou shalt not be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible. And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee." (Deuteronomy 7:20-22)
What a motivating promise for the sons of God and a terrible message for the wicked. The hornet's promise, which is still applicable to people who follow God's word, is the same.
Think of it. No weapon formed against you can prosper. So be of good courage. Everything that can be shaken is being shaken. Take the same counsel that Paul gave Timothy, stir up the gift that's in you.
