Uncovering God's Creation: The Reality of Your Identity and Purpose
You are in God's creation. Scripture declares, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Have you ever heard someone refer to the universe as if the universe was God?
The truth is that God stands outside the universe because he is the creator of the universe. So we might be in the universe but the universe is in him. This is one of the truths Apostle Paul spoke about in Athens on Mar's Hill after he saw the statue of “The Unknown God.”
Again, you are in God's creation. He is the creator and designer of all things. John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:1-3). Notice it says that all things were made by him. All things is everything.
You need the advantage of the right perspective of who you are and where you live. Afterward, a lot of things you are concerned about aren't really that important. God, the creator of all things designed you and the kingdom of God. Said another way, the kingdom of God was designed to host you. This is what Apostle Peter was trying to get across revealing your kingship by writing that you are part of a royal priesthood of kings designed to live in the kingdom (1 Peter 2:9). Not only that but the kingdom of God was designed to respond to you as a son of God. When you grasp this truth an explosion of confidence and faith will awaken you to what it means to be free. Christ said, “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).
Nevertheless, you need faith to lay hold of this truth of reality. The Hebrew writer declared, “Through faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3).
You are God's creation with identity and purpose. “For you are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that you should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Forget about giving credit to the universe, you are God's creation.
