Entering a Realm of Transformation: Embracing Renewal through the Word of God as a Disciple of Christ
As a Disciple of Christ, you are not who you once were. You're different. You have changed. Before you were born-again, you were dead in trespasses and sin. Unable to be led by the Holy Spirit. But when you confessed your sin and Christ as Lord, something marvelous happened, you came out of spiritual death and entered the light of God's grace, mercy, love, the redemption of sin, and spiritual life. Scripture teaches,
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others” (Ephesians 2:1-3).
Now you are ready to enter the realm of transformation. In other words, that new creature in Christ is ready to enter the place of transformation. Not transforming others, but transforming yourself by the help of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
Scripture helps you understand. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).
Notice the process of transformation deals with renewing your mind. Apostle Paul gave spiritual advice to Timothy. He wrote, “Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, AMP).
You are on a voyage as the Holy Spirit prepares you for purpose and destiny. This voyage has no room for complacency, apathy, or lukewarmness. Give yourself to becoming that person God says you are. Stay onboard the ship and keep your eyes on the destination.
