Putting On the Armor of God: Becoming a Spiritual Warrior

Do you feel like you're fighting a spiritual battle? Are you ready to be a spiritual warrior and stand strong in your faith? Put on the full armor of God and take up the shield of faith so you can fight against the powers of darkness and bring the Kingdom of God to earth.

It's time to do more than sit idly by, but to take up your spiritual weapons and engage the enemy. A spiritual warrior in the Christian faith is someone who is actively engaged in spiritual warfare, praying and standing in the gap for others against the principalities and powers of darkness.

They are prayer warriors who are willing to fight for their faith, stand strong, and be a light in the darkness. They are also people who seek to bring the Kingdom of God on earth and actively pursue a life of holiness and righteousness.

Ephesians 6:10–18 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

In the context of spiritual warriors, this scripture is a reminder that we are in a spiritual battle against the powers of darkness, and we must put on the full armor of God in order to be able to stand firm against them.

The belt of truth symbolizes the truth of God’s Word, and the breastplate of righteousness symbolizes our right standing with God.

The shoes of readiness signify our readiness to share the good news of the gospel of peace, and the shield of faith gives us the ability to extinguish any flaming arrows of the enemy.

The helmet of salvation symbolizes the assurance of our salvation, and the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, which is our offensive weapon in this battle. Finally, we must be alert and always pray for all of God’s people. Spiritual warfare is a fight in the spirit with demonic forces in the unseen spirit world.

Again, spiritual warfare is a battle that takes place in the spiritual realm between the forces of good and evil. It is a fight against demonic powers, principalities, and spiritual forces of evil that try to hinder us from fulfilling God’s will and purpose in our lives. It is a spiritual fight against the enemy’s strategies, lies, and deceptions that attempt to steal, kill, and destroy our relationship with God and our joy in Him.

We must use the armor of God and the power of prayer to stand firm against these spiritual attacks and overcome them. Through prayer, faith, and the full armor of God, we can be spiritual warriors and fight against the powers of darkness in order to manifest the Kingdom of God.
