Jesus Appoints Spiritual Gifts for the Perfecting of Saints
The Church, the Body of Christ, is a unique and special group of people who have been called and chosen by God to serve His kingdom. It is essential that the church be unified and equipped with the necessary gifts and resources to fulfill its mission.
In order to do this, we must strive to come together in unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, as outlined in Ephesians 4. Jesus Christ has given us apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers for the perfecting of the saints and the edifying of the body of Christ.
These spiritual gifts, as outlined in Ephesians 4:11–12, are essential for the proper functioning of the church. They provide the church with the necessary knowledge and leadership to serve God’s kingdom and be used as His instrument in building up the body. We should strive to come together in unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God.
Unity is essential for the church to be effective in its mission. As outlined in Ephesians 4:3, our unity should be based on the knowledge of the Son of God. We should seek to be unified in our faith and in the knowledge of Christ, allowing Him to be the foundation of our fellowship. We should no longer be children, easily swayed by every wind of doctrine.
As outlined in Ephesians 4:14, we must be grounded in our faith and knowledge of God and reject any teachings that are contrary to the truth. We should guard against the sleight of men and cunning craftiness that are used to deceive and instead focus on speaking the truth in love.
As Ephesians 4:15 states, we should express our beliefs with love and grace, avoiding harshness and judgment. Christ is the head of the body, and we should submit to His rule and leadership. Each part of the body should work together to increase the body and edify it in love. We should be unified in our purpose and seek to lift up and encourage one another in love, as Ephesians 4:16 states.
The perfecting of the saints is necessary for the work of the ministry. In order for the church to serve effectively, it is essential that its members be perfected in their faith and equipped to fulfill the mission of the church, as outlined in Ephesians 4:12.
We should aim for a perfect man according to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, as Ephesians 4:13 states. We should strive to become like Christ in our character and actions, reflecting His perfection.
The body of Christ should be compacted and joined together by the fluid that every joint supplies. Every member of the church should contribute to the growth of the body in love, with each part fulfilling its unique purpose, as Ephesians 4:16 states. We should continually strive to become more and more like Christ in all that we do and seek to lift up and encourage one another in love.
The Church is a special and unique group of people who have been called and chosen by God to serve His kingdom. It is essential that the Church is unified and equipped with the necessary gifts and resources to fulfill its mission. By following the guidance outlined in Ephesians 4, we can be sure the church is properly equipped and unified to serve God’s kingdom and to be used as His instrument in building up the body.
