God's Design for the Man in Marriage

Gods Design for the Man in Marriage 304Marriage is an important part of life, and it is a special bond between two people. God has given us a blueprint on how to make marriage work, and it is important to follow His design. He tells us in the Bible that men are to be the primary leader and authority figure in the family, including having authority over the woman. He also instructs us that a man should leave his parents and cleave to his wife, so that they will become one.

Furthermore, God has given men five main responsibilities in marriage: to lead the family, protect the family, provide for the family, show unconditional love, and show respect. All of these are important components of a successful marriage, and it is important to understand and adhere to God's design for marriage.

RULE OVER THE WOMAN

Scripture says, "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee" (Genesis 3:16). This verse is part of God's punishment for the woman for disobeying him in the Garden of Eden. It means that God will increase the physical pain and suffering of childbirth, and that the woman's desire to be with her husband will be strong, and her husband will have authority over her and control over her.

This verse is often seen as a symbol of the subjugation of women in society. However, it's clear that men are given the responsibility to lead the family. It also means that the husband will have the power to make decisions and have authority over the woman. He will have the right to make decisions that affect both himself and his wife, and he will be in charge of the relationship. He will be the leader and the one who sets the tone for the relationship. He will be the one in control.

Said another way, the rule over thee refers to the fact that God has ordained that the husband should have authority over the wife in the relationship. It does not mean that the husband should dominate or oppress the wife, but rather that he should provide leadership and direction for the marriage. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, and provide for her needs and protection.

ONE FLESH

God also declared, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). This verse is part of the creation story in the Bible and is often seen as expressing the importance of marriage. It means that a man should leave his parents and commit himself to his wife, and the two of them will become one unit.

This speaks to the sacredness of marriage, and the idea that two people in a marriage should be unified and work together. It also implies that marriage is a lifelong commitment. As already said, the Bible states that God gave men the responsibility to lead the family and that they should have authority and control over their wives.

This is expressed in Genesis 3:16, which states that the woman’s desire will be for her husband, and he shall rule over her. Genesis 2:24 also speaks to the importance of marriage and the idea that two people should become one unit. Both verses emphasize the importance of marriage and the need for husbands to lead their families.

RESPONSIBLITIES OF MEN

Men have five important responsibilities in marriage, including leading the family, protecting the family, providing for the family, showing unconditional love, and showing respect. There are more, but let's examine these.

1. Leading the family: A man should be the primary leader and authority figure in the family. He should have the final say in family decisions, and he should be the one to set the tone for the relationship.

2. Protecting the family: A man should be the protector of the family, providing physical and emotional security.

3. Providing for the family: A man should be the primary provider for his family, providing for their needs financially as well as providing emotional and spiritual guidance.

4. Showing unconditional love: A man should be loving and supportive of his family and show unconditional love.

5. Showing respect: A man should show respect to his wife and children, and set a good example of how to treat others and how to live a life of integrity.

In conclusion, men have an important role in marriage. According to Scripture, men are responsible for leading the family, protecting the family, providing for the family, showing unconditional love, and showing respect. Men should strive to fulfill these responsibilities in their marriages.
