From Such Turn Away

From Such Turn AwayAre you struggling to stay true to your faith in a world filled with sin and darkness? You're not alone. The Bible provides us with the guidance we need to live according to God's will. We must be sure to separate ourselves from unbelievers, turn away from those who reject God, and confess our faith in Christ. By following the word of God, we can be a beacon of light in a dark world and live out our faith with conviction. Living in a world that is filled with sin, it is easy to get caught up in the things that don’t line up with God’s will. We are constantly faced with decisions about whether to follow God or the world. That’s why it is so important to remember the words of Paul, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

We must make sure that we are not partnering with those who reject God, as it will only lead to a lack of harmony between us. We must come out from among them and be separate, as God has commanded us to do.

In the last days, the Bible warns us of perilous times that will come. We must be aware of those who are lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, and lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God (2 Timothy 3:1–5).

We must turn away from such people and instead associate ourselves with those who believe in God and live according to His will. In 1 Kings 18:21, Elijah asks a very important question: "How long halt ye between two opinions? "If the LORD be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him." This is a reminder to us of the importance of making a decision to follow God.

We cannot continue to be on the fence, or our faith will suffer. The Bible also tells us that "for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).

However, it also warns us that "men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil." (John 3:19). We must make sure that we live our lives according to the truth of God’s word and not be led astray by those who would prefer to remain in the darkness.

Jesus himself said that "whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father, who is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father, who is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32-33). We must make sure that we are not ashamed to declare our faith in Him and to live in a way that honors Him.

Finally, in Exodus 12:13, we are reminded of the power of the blood of Jesus. God promises to pass over us when he sees the blood on the doorposts of our homes: "And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."

No matter the situation, the Bible reminds us that if we call on the name of the Lord, we will be saved. (Romans 10:4-13). We must make sure that we are confessing our faith in Christ, living in a way that honors Him, and turning away from those who would lead us astray. In doing so, we will be living according to God’s will and will be blessed with His grace and mercy.

In conclusion, remember this: Matthew 5:14–16. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, who is in heaven.
