Praying Out the Mysteries of God

The mysteries of the Kingdom of God belong to you. These mysteries are unlocked by the Holy Spirit during prayer. Not only are mysteries spiritual revelations of the Word of God we call rhema, but also revealed mysteries of your Kingdom walk with Christ guided by the Holy Spirit.

In the Bible, there are two Greek words rhema and logos. Both these Greek words translate as word in the English language. Rhema is revelatory, and logos is written. (Black ink on white paper.) This means it’s possible to read the text of Scripture and receive a revelation as to what that word means to you personally. Jesus said, “It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words (rhema) that I have spoken unto you are spirit, and are life” (John 6:63 ASV).

To understand these mysteries requires prayer. First, let’s understand Christ taught the masses of people different than his Disciples. To the masses, he taught in parables, but to His Disciples, he was more direct.  This puzzled his Disciples, and they asked him to explain why the parables. A Biblical parable is a story that teaches a spiritual principle. Christ said, “This is the reason that I speak to them in parables: because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand” (Matthew 13:13 AMP). In other words, these people are listening, but they don’t get it. Then He answered his Disciples in a most direct way, “Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them, it is not given” (Matthew 13:11).

This should really encourage you. The mysteries of the Kingdom of God belong to you. As already said, the mysteries of the Kingdom of God unlock God’s plan for your life. These mysteries are revealed to you through prayer by the Holy Spirit.

Apostle Paul taught an amazing truth about prayer. One day he was teaching about praying in other tongues. He wrote, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit, he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2). Did you get that? He wrote, “In the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” Prayer warriors understand the importance of the Holy Spirit in prayer. “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (prayer weaknesses): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself (himself) maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).

The bottom line is this, when you pray in other tongues your spirit, in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, is praying out the mysteries of God. Said another way, praying out the plan of God for your future.

Prayer of Faith Shall Save the Sick

The prayer of faith is so powerful it can heal the sick. Scripture says, “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him” (James 5:15).

Faith is believing that God will do what he said he would do.

Faith is not just believing in your heart, faith is associated with an action. An action is visible and not hidden. Jesus said, “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house” (Matthew 5:15).

Prayer is communicating with God.

The prayer of faith is believing what God said, agreeing with what God said, declaring what God said, and acting on what God said. Paul wrote, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13). If you are sick, you want someone to believe with you for God’s healing virtue. You see, faith activates the anointing.

God responds to faith, not needs.

In other words, faith grabs hold of God’s promises. By faith mountains move, storms give up and quit, and demons flee. Faith pleases God. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

The prayer of faith is not a pharisaical religious prayer. No, the prayer of faith touches God. It’s a heartfelt serious prayer. James wrote the prayer of faith is certain, fixed, and steadfast. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord” (James 1:6-7).

One day a cripple was listening to Apostle Paul preach. Paul saw faith rising in the man’s heart. “And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked” (Acts 14:7-10). That’s the prayer of faith!

Faith sees the answer. Faith sees the victory. Faith touches the hem of Christ’s garment.

Breach in the Spirit

Some intercessors feel a breach in the spirit. This breach reminds me of the days of Nehemiah when he said the walls were broken down and the city gates burned with fire. In other words, the enemies of God plundered the city without any resistance. This breach in the spirit describes a great need for national repentance and a turning back to Christ in North America.

If you want to make American great again then you have to put Christ first again.

The truth is that secular humanists leadership cannot make this world a better place. Americans, especially American Christians must stop looking to political leaders as protectors and providers. The role of salt and light in a dark world belongs to the Disciples of Christ. We can make a difference. Scripture says, “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations and you shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isaiah 58:12).

Many will have to make some decisions by defining their core values. Some, for example, are struggling with the skewed moral values promoted by national governments that conflict with the absolute moral values found within the Kingdom of God. Joshua said it like this, “Choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).

America is at a real crossroads regarding its future. We need to have Battle Faith. Scripture says, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do” (Psalms 11:3)? This year many giants against our culture have appeared across the land but our response will be just like David, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26).

Demonic Wedge Weapons

Knowledge of the realm of the spirit around you is essential. Did you know Jesus taught more about demons than he did about angels? If fact, after Jesus called his Disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out (Matthew 10:1). Sometimes we forget the anointing does more than bless, it also confronts spiritual opposition. It breaks the yoke and removes the burden. The anointing confronts any demonic activity that is contrary to the Word of God and His promises for your life.

Demons are spirits that rebelled against God. They can’t attack God so they attack his creation. This is why it’s important to understand spiritual authority. You have an enemy. Demons are destroyers of God’s purpose for your life. Ignoring them won’t stop their plans for destruction, and ignorance makes things worse because demons take advantage of your lack of knowledge. God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Apostle Paul taught the members of his church about the wiles of the devil. He wrote, “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). Paul understood the importance of putting on the whole armor of God. Armor is for the fighting believer. It’s for those that understand their delegated spiritual authority to challenge demonic strategies.

Evil spirits use wedge weapons to separate you from God’s Word, other Disciples, and faithful Christian service. A wedge is a piece of material, such as metal or wood, thick at one edge and tapered to a thin edge at the other for insertion in a narrow crevice, used for splitting, tightening, securing, or levering. You have probably seen someone use a metal wedge when cutting logs.

There is a breach in the wall and a tear in the fabric.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Servants become rulers, citizen’s now serfs, and truth forsaken and trampled.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Lawlessness is favored, sin celebrated, and righteousness ignored.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Blood spilled, hatred kindled, and innocence lost.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Fear, hurt, anguish, and grief.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Yet, once more, truth will awaken and speak on His behalf.

Justice cries out from the streets.

What can hold it back? Can you hear the sound?

Justice cries out from the streets.

Who will answer the call, lift up the standard, and defend the weak and innocent?

Justice cries out from the streets.

Who shall subdue the anger, take away the pain, and heal the open wounds?

Justice cries out from the streets.

Awaken God’s mighty gatekeepers, His warriors of old, intercessors, and those that stand in the gap and make up the hedge.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Arise prophetic voice and speak to the four winds, shake yourself Remnant, and stir from your slumber.

Justice cries out from the streets.

Who will blow the trumpet? Who will sound the alarm? Who will answer the call?

Justice cries out from the streets.

Hear the word of the Lord ye people. “For Jehovah loves justice, and forsaketh not his saints. They are preserved forever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off” (Psalms 37:28).

Justice cries out from the streets.

You Shall Be As Gods

Because man wants to be a god, determining good and evil for themselves, lawlessness in society increases as the god-man rebels against the rule of law. The State, moreover, clashes with all others because it considers itself as ruler over man. These eventually clash with each other in a constant warfare for dominion. Who shall govern?

The quest for power by the self-determined god-man and the self-determined god-state lead to a secular humanistic society depraved of moral absolutes that over time destroys itself. We see this happening today. This has been the pattern for thousands of years as nations rise and fall and shift in power. Satan’s enticement was, “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5). This Scripture takes us back to the beginning and reveals the treason of Adam and Eve. Read again. “For you shall be as gods knowing (or determining for yourself) good and evil.”

The first Adam didn’t have a sin nature like you and me. No, in fact, Adam was a perfect man. His sin was the highest of all, straight up rebellion and treason against God. Adam wanted to determine for himself good and evil. He wanted God’s place of supreme lordship and sovereignty. Adam did not want delegated dominion over the earth but sovereign dominion over the earth. His treason threw the world into chaos, warfare, and need of a savior.

Saint Athanasius wrote, On the Incarnation, “When this happened men began to die, and corruption ran riot among them and held sway over them to an even more than natural degree, because it was the penalty of which God had forewarned them for transgressing the commandment. Indeed, they had in their sinning surpassed all limits; for, having invented wickedness in the beginning and so involved themselves in death and corruption, they had gone on gradually from bad to worse, not stopping at any one kind of evil, but continually, as with insatiable appetite, devising new kinds of sins. Adulteries and thefts were everywhere, murder and rapine filled the earth, law was disregarded in corruption and injustice, all kinds of iniquities were perpetrated by all, both singly and in common.”

The right for legal dominion can only be obtained through submission to Jehovah’s rule of law (Exodus 20). This is why Christ told His Disciples to “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). To put the Kingdom of God first means to put first His government, His authority, His laws, His principles, His Word, and His lordship. Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. (Read more here.)

Chosen Voices And Prophetic Ministry

The prophetic ministry is distinctively different from the other five-fold ascension gifts. Prophetic ministry is uniquely distinct from the pastoral for example. Where pastors may be more sheep minded because they are shepherds, prophets may be more voice of God minded. Prophet Habakkuk said, “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved” (Habakkuk 2:1).

Prophets are also more spiritual timing minded such as the children of Issachar, “Which were men that had an understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do” (1 Chronicles 12:32). (Check out What Every Prophet Needs to Know.)

Prophets, like the other governmental ascension gifts of apostles and teachers, are drafted into ministry by the sovereign will of Christ alone. No one can call you into the five-fold office of a prophet. Even with that said, we don’t want to focus solely on the prophetic office but rather prophetic operations such as being led by the Holy Spirit. Scripture says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). With that said, every Spirit-filled Christian can experience the manifestation of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

Prophets are familiar with this verse, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). Prophets are chosen voices that God sets apart to speak on His behalf. Their ministries are significant, different, and distinct. Prophets know their purpose and ministry role, chosen vessels making straight a highway for our God. Speak prophets. Our nation needs you.

Britain will vote today. It will be a historic decision, exit or stay in the European Union. God will give you what you want, but understand the gravity of your decision. The immigration policy of the EU has opened you up to Islamic invasion. Islam is a very different culture. If you make the wrong decision today, which I suspect you will (surprise me), then this door of opportunity to keep your national identity will be closed and the greatest measure of your national freedom lost. Your grandchildren will never know the Britain you knew because sovereignty went on the auction block. Before you vote dig down deep in your heart and listen to that still small voice of the Holy Spirit.

The West is in a great spiritual war that is being played out all around us. (Who will govern?) London just voted in a Muslim mayor. What’s that prophesy to you?

We pray, Christ’s kingdom come, and His will be done.

Spiritual Enemies

Spiritual warfare is fought in the spirit. That’s why it’s called spiritual warfare. Scripture declares, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). High places are ruling places. Often Apostle Paul uses terms such as soldier, fight, weapons, and armor. He made it clear that your struggle is not against people, but the spirits that motivate people to do what they do. This is why we pray spiritual warfare prayers.

Warfare prayer is using your delegated spiritual authority to bind and loose through prayer. You have been authorized to bind demonic attacks and to loose the favor of God. Warfare is armed conflict against an enemy. Christians arm themselves spiritually with the Word of God. They study, for example, to show themselves approved, workmen that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). They take up the shield of faith that stops all the fiery darts of the wicked one. They also wield the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

There are many spiritual enemies to arm against such as sickness, divination, and demonic strategies that try to steal, kill, or destroy your faith in Christ.  Nevertheless, your battle is not against flesh and blood. Your warfare is a battle in the spirit. Win spiritually and things get better naturally. Lose spiritually and things get worse naturally. This is where the Word of God and battling prayer become vital to the Disciple of Christ.

There are many different types of prayer. Different types of prayer have different kinds of results. Scripture says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). Mature in the Word and learn how to pray. Start with binding and loosing in the Name of Jesus.

Christ gave you the keys to the Kingdom. Those are your victory keys. He said, “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).

Do You Know Someone With A Religious Spirit?

Let’s take a look at defining religion and the religious spirit. A religious spirit is a force that tries to get you to act pious, self-righteous, or super spiritual. Before you can guard yourself against this spirit, you first have to understand what it is.

Some of you may have never heard of a religious spirit. Others of you may think being religious is a good thing, mistaking religion with a right relationship with God. You may even ask, “What’s wrong with being religious?” Alternatively, “So what if there are religious spirits? How can they affect me if I am a born again believer in Christ Jesus?”

To find truthful answers to these questions, let’s look into what the Bible teaches about religion. First, exactly what is religion? Scripture says,

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (James 1:26-27).

So we learn from the above Scripture that religion in itself is simply…

To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction.

To keep oneself free from worldly influences.

That sounds like a good thing on the surface – and it is. However, if we examine the more of God’s Word, we will soon discover that there is a religious spirit that is quite different from what the Bible describes as “pure religion.” It is this different spirit that we must watch out for.

The Lord would not have us ignorant to the spirit of religion. The Bible gives us many examples of the operations of religious spirits throughout the Word including:

  • The scribes and Pharisees were ready to stone the woman caught in the act of adultery, yet there was no mention of stoning the man who was with her (John 8).
  • Apostle Peter and Barnabas would not sit and eat with the Gentile believers in Antioch when Jewish brothers came to visit from Jerusalem (Galatians 2:11-13).
  • The scribes and Pharisees challenged Jesus because His disciples did not wash their hands (ceremonially) before they ate (Matthew 15:2).
  • Jesus taught His disciples not to pray long prayers like the scribes, who prayed only for show (Luke 20:46-47).
  • Saul guarded the garments of religious murderers as they stoned a righteous man named Stephen to death (Acts 7:58).
  • After a notable miracle, a religious council, motivated by fear, reprimanded the Apostles Peter and John for speaking the name of Jesus (Acts 4:15-18).
  • When Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath, it so stirred up those with religious spirits they sought to kill Him (Mark 3:1-6).

Religious spirits are murdering spirits. They are full of legalism, hypocrisy, control, self-righteousness, and every evil thing. Avoid them.
