Prophetic Announcements
- Unlocking Times and Seasons

Prophetic announcements open new doors of opportunity in your
life and ministry.
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. How much more, then,
do prophetic operations have a powerful impact on the realm of the
spirit? Prophets that flow accurately benefit the Body of Christ by
announcing, activating, imparting, confirming, and unlocking various
times and seasons in believers’ lives.
Solomon wrote, “to every thing there is a season.” Just as there are
natural seasons, there are also spiritual seasons; a natural timing
and a spiritual timing. It takes the grace of the prophet to unlock
those times and seasons by the will and power of God. Indeed, the
prophetic tongue can set on fire the very course of nature by
unlocking times and seasons in our lives. We know that the Lord does
nothing without first revealing it to His servants the prophets
(Amos 3:7).
The prophetic grace is profitable to the Body of Christ because many
believers become frustrated in knowing they carry a gift of God
inside them while discerning they are not walking in the measure the
Lord would have them to walk in during a particular season. Prophets
can alleviate this frustration by announcing God’s will in a
person’s life, activating the measure, and unlocking the new time
and season by the laying on of hands. To be sure, accurate prophetic
operations can unlock a believer’s destiny.
From King David to Gideon and from Joseph to John the Baptist, we
read about prophetic announcements that unlocked new times and
seasons in the lives of Biblical characters throughout the Word of
God.
The prophet Samuel made a prophetic announcement and impartation
when he took a horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his
brothers. At that time, the Spirit of the Lord came upon David in
power. David would soon thereafter be called into King Saul’s court
to soothe him with his harp playing. “And David came to Saul, and
stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his
armourbearer. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray
thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight” (1
Samuel 16:21-23). Clearly, God unlocked a new season in David’s life
through a prophetic operation released by the prophet Samuel. In the
New Testament, John the Baptist was a forerunner of Christ’s
ministry. He announced the coming of the Messiah (Matthew 3:11). He
later announced that the Messiah was on the scene when he declared,
“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”
(John 1:29). This Scripture illustrates that even the three-year
season of the Son of God’s ministry was revealed by a prophetic
announcement.

In the
book of Acts we see a prophetic presbytery at the early church in
Antioch make a prophetic announcement by the unction of the Holy
Spirit as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting. The words,
“Separate me Barnabus and Saul for the work whereunto I have called
them” (Acts 13:3) opened the door for a new season of ministry for
Barnabus and Paul. The presbytery laid hands on the duo and sent
them on their way.
One of the most well known prophetic announcements was to Mary, the
mother of Jesus. An angel of the Lord told her that she was highly
favored and would bring forth a son named Jesus who would be the
Savior of the world. This announcement changed Mary’s life forever
as it opened the door for a new season in her life (Luke 1:28-33).
An angel of the Lord also made a prophetic announcement to Gideon
when he said, “Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from
the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto
him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is
poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. And the
LORD said unto him, “Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt
smite the Midianites as one man” (Judges 6:14-16).
This prophetic announcement stirred faith and action for a new day
in Gideon’s heart. The announcement unlocked a new season in his
life and he became the mighty man of valor that God called him to
be.
In the Book of Genesis, Joseph received a prophetic dream that
announced a coming dominion authority. This dream unlocked a series
of times and seasons in Joseph’s life that would send him first to a
pit, then to Potiphar’s house, then to a prison and finally to
Pharaoh’s palace before the prophetic dream was fulfilled.
“And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they
hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you,
this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding
sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood
upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made
obeisance to my sheaf.
And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or
shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the
more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another
dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a
dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars
made obeisance to me” (Genesis 37:5-9).
Of course, this prophetic dream so angered Joseph’s brothers that they sought
means to kill him and sold him into slavery. But God worked all
things together for good and what his brothers meant for evil was
used to help Joseph fulfill the call of God on his life.
The Bible is alive with examples of how God uses the prophetic realm
to open our eyes to His will for our lives. What was true for
Joseph, David and Gideon is also true today. God is still using
prophets as special messengers to unlock new times and seasons in
the lives of His people.
