Most churches have done a good job meeting the believers’ spiritual needs with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There remains, however, an unfulfilled need in the area of life skills including financial matters, leadership and entrepreneur development.
Recently, a secular motivational speaker was holding a "financial success" seminar. He charged $1,295 per person and the class was full! As I reviewed his message, I was amazed to discover that the foundation for most of his teaching came directly from the Word of God. This high-dollar secular speaker was simply tweaking God's wisdom for his business cliental. He was identifying his audience's natural needs and providing them with the knowledge they needed to succeed.
If the world's principles for success come from the Word of God, then the Church should have the best teaching in the world on life skills, and especially financial matters. It is critical in this hour that we walk in success. If Christians can't pay their bills and meet their family needs, then how can they be effective in ministry?
Remember that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were extremely wealthy, and the Word declares, "It is God that gives you the power to create wealth to establish His covenant." I believe it is important for apostolic prototype churches to offer life skills development training to its ministry model through various workshops enabling people to escape minimum-wage and dead-end employment. "Perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry" must include life skills too. Jonas Clark and the SOLM team provide such classes to meet the needs of our membership. Workshop topics include:
Leadership Development
Communication Skills
Problem Solving
Godly Character
Setting Goals
Thinking Ahead
Results Oriented
Working with Teams
The Language of Leadership
Behavior Profiling
Modeling the Way
Global Financial Awareness
How the Economy Works
Understanding Inflation
Business Principles
Success in life and ministry
Financial Training
And much more.
